Photographing Everyday Life

This Free 5-week virtual course for children and youth age 10-18 will go over basic photography components and concepts. Each week will focus on a different theme that will encourage students to look at everyday life with fresh eyes and to find the hidden poetry of their surroundings. The students will participate in an engaging and collaborative project they can accomplish from home. The class will meet virtually on Zoom.

INSTRUCTOR

Natasha Cohen Carroll graduated from Haverford College with a double major in English and Fine Arts with a concentration in photography. She was awarded the Center for Peace & Global Citizenship Grant and taught photography and theatre to children in Ahmedabad, India. Natasha is bilingual in English and French and advanced in Spanish. She is an artist/counselor with the West Park Cultural Center’s Camp Ginkgo and has led stop-motion and poetry workshops during the school year. She co-organized the Mustard Seed Film Festival and is working on documentary film projects about community and culture. Most recently, she was a Movement Media Fellow with the Media Mobilizing Project.
